A review could be launched into the Prince Albert police service due to the number of complaints filed against it.

According to government statistics, 19 complaints were laid against the department between April of 2007 to March of this year.

One of the complaints was determined to be unfounded while 5 others were withdrawn.

12 others are still being looked at while one complaint WAS found to be substantiated.

Spokesman for the justice department, Andrew Dinsmore, says Minister Frank Morgan will decide in September or October whether a review is needed.

The 19 complaints in Prince Albert compares to 56 in Regina, 58 in Saskatoon and 3 in Moose Jaw.

The one complaint found to be substantiated against the Prince Albert police service was related to abuse of authority.
