Prince Albert Murder Suspect Appears In Court

A 30-year-old woman has made her first court appearance on charges of stabbing and killing a man in Prince Albert.

Mavis Carla Daniels is charged with the second-degree murder of Brian Ahenakew.

The 51-year-old man was fatally stabbed in the West Hill area early Sunday.

This morning, Daniels’ lawyer told the judge he needed more time to review the facts of the case.

A new hearing was scheduled for June 21st.

Before leaving with a guard, Daniels called out to her family sitting in the gallery: “I love you guys.”

They responded with similar sentiments.
