Officials with the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations say they’re not sure whether Canada’s new Indian Affairs minister will be at the FSIN’s winter legislative assembly this week.
Jim Prentice was invited to the event in Saskatoon shortly after he was elevated to his new portfolio.
However, his name is not on the agenda.
An FSIN spokesperson says they are making time allowances in the event he shows up — but at this point, they don’t know if Prentice will make an appearance.
Prentice recently spoke at a chiefs’ meeting in B.C.
He has also confirmed his attendance for next month’s Metis National Council general assembly in Winnipeg.
