Premiers from Canada’s western provinces and territories met with Aboriginal business people and local First Nations and Metis leaders yesterday in Prince Albert.
The premiers and territorial leaders are in the city for this week’s Western Premiers’ Conference.
Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall was once again downplaying suggestions his government should share resource revenue with First Nations.
Wall said he is more interested in growing an economy that will provide jobs and create wealth for First Nations and Metis people.
He also said many of the partnerships that provide health and education opportunities for Aboriginal people come out of the resource dollars in question.
The premiers are attending a rally in the city today marking the Aboriginal National Day of Action.
