The Hatchet Lake First Nation plays host to Premier Lorne Calvert today.

Calvert is in the Far North community as part of a tour of all First Nations in the province.

Shortly after the last provincial election, Calvert promised he would visit every First Nation in the province before the next election.

A spokesman in the Premier’s office says Calvert is well on track to meeting that goal, with an estimated 70 per cent of Saskatchewan’s reserves visited so far.

Calvert’s trip to Hatchet Lake today will include stops at the reserve’s schools, and a meeting with the chief and council.

The premier will also be touring the community and witnessing a Dene drum song.
