Residents in the northwest region of the province are in the dark this afternoon.

SaskPower spokesman Larry Christie says the power north and west of Glaslyn went out at about 11:00 this morning.

Christie says it appears to be a problem with a major transmission line that runs along that side of the province and into the Northwest Territories.

He says its a “very technical situation” and a specialist is being flown right now to address it.

At last word, SaskPower officials indicated it will likely be 5:00 this afternoon before power is restored.
