Poundmaker Teens Arrested Following Police Chase

Mounties in North Battleford had to use a spike belt yesterday to end the pursuit of a stolen vehicle the RCMP say was driven by two young teenagers from the Poundmaker First Nation.
Shortly after 2:00 am, RCMP officers began pursuing a stolen truck in North Battleford.
The suspects led officers to the Poundmaker reserve and back into North Battleford, where the spike belt was deployed to stop the truck.
The stolen vehicle and several RCMP vehicles were damaged in the chase becasue the suspects rammed and made contact with the pursuing police cruisers on several occasions.
The 14-year-old suspects are appearing in North Battleford Provincial Court today to face charges of dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, criminal flight and breach of probation.
The Battlefords, Cut Knife and Maidstone RCMP detachments were all involved in the pursuit.
