Police Seek Input On Taser Use

The question of whether or not rank-and-file cops should be allowed to carry Tasers in Saskatchewan cities is under the microscope.
A number of different agencies, including the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, have been invited to give their feedback on the idea.
Mitch Holash is the chairman of the Saskatchewan Police Commission, the group carrying out the review.
He says right now only SWAT teams and emergency response units are allowed to use the devices.
But that could change depending on what the commission finds.
He adds any member of the public that wants to give their opinion on the subject should contact the commission in writing.
