Police Identify Victims of Northern Fatalities

The RCMP has released the names of two people who died in northern Saskatchewan recently.

 

Pearl Faith Morin lost her life after being struck by a semi-trailer full of logs near Weyakwin early Wednesday morning.

 

The 19-year-old Weyakwin resident was apparently walking in the in the driving lane of the highway on a nearby bridge when the tragedy occurred.

 

Officers with the Waskesiu detachment of the RCMP are continuing to investigate.

 

Meanwhile, police in Wollaston say the body of a 68 year-old man found on the Hatchet Lake First Nation is that of a Manitoba resident.

 

Benjamin Gazayou of Lac Brochet was discovered in a grassy field on the reserve Sunday morning.

 

The RCMP has not yet announced a cause of death.
