Police Ask For Tips Regarding Timber Cove Fire

The public is being asked to lend a hand to solve some recent crimes in the province’s north.
The RCMP are trying to determine who lit a fire at Timber Cove and who abandoned a truckful of stolen copper pipe in Big River.
Both incidents happened in the spring.
On May 2nd, waterbombers were called in to douse a fire that was set near Highway 2 at Timber Cove.
The estimated cost of fighting the blaze was $20,000.
Then, sometime between May 29th and June 2nd, thieves broke into the yard at Thorpe Brothers Plumbing and Heating in Prince Albert.
They ended up driving away with a stolen truck full of copper pipe.
However, they apparently couldn’t unload it — as the truck was found in Big River with the pipe still in the back.
Police say anyone with information about either crime can call the RCMP or Crimestoppers.
