Police Arrest Unlawful Confinement Suspect

A man from the Okanese First Nation accused in the unlawful confinement and sexual assault of his girlfriend has been apprehended.

Police arrested 21-year-old Anthony Michael Tuckanow in Regina this past Friday after obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

Tuckanow made his first court appearance yesterday and will be back in court in Broadview tomorrow.

The Mounties say a 17-year-old woman was held against her will at a rural residence near Duff, Saskatchewan from December 22nd to December 29th.

According to the RCMP, she was assaulted with weapons, threatened with a firearm and sexually assaulted.

A 59-year-old woman who was an occupant of the home at the time of the alleged incident was initially arrested, but has since been released.
