The president of the Metis Nation of Saskatchewan says the MNS will use Provincial Metis Council members as delegates at next month’s Metis National Assembly.

Robert Doucette says he doesn’t know which of the 18 members will make up Saskatchewan’s 15 voting delegates yet.

Doucette says that will be decided by the MNS caucus just before the October 13th vote for MNC president.

Ousted MNC president Clem Chartier has expressed concerns that the provincial Metis leaders that forced him out of office earlier this summer will hand-pick their delegates, instead of using elected officials in their respective jurisdictions.

But Doucette says the delegates from Saskatchewan will all come from the PMC.

Next month’s election will take place in Ottawa.
