The RCMP are looking for the public’s help in solving a 23-year-old mystery.
On March 16th, 1985, 33-year-old Jimmy Oscar Laliberte went to the Stampede Bar in Meadow Lake.
According to the Mounties, he apparently got into some type of altercation while at that establishment.
Later that same night, the RCMP say he returned to his mother’s house in Green Lake and went to bed.
Shortly after waking up the next day, he collapsed to the floor unconscious and later died.
The RCMP say evidence gathered at the time showed that Laliberte suffered significant trauma to his brain and body.
RCMP spokesman Sgt. Doug Coleman says anyone who may have witnessed the incident in the bar is asked to step forward.
This is the sixth cold case reopened by the Mounties in Saskatchewan in the last year.
