The search for a missing float plane in northern Saskatchewan has been called off upon news the aircraft reached its destination.
An official with CFB Trenton’s rescue co-ordination centre in Ontario says the private single-engine aircraft made it safely to Needle Lake.
A helicopter from CFB Winnipeg had been called out when there was no word from the plane’s two occupants, who left Lloydminster last night.
But the two men contacted authorities this morning, saying they couldn’t confirm their arrival earlier because their satellite phone had broken down.
