Pinehouse village council will have at least one new face on it this fall — and possibly as many as five.

The northern village goes to the polls October 7, in one of the province’s earliest municipal elections.

The candidates’ list became official yesterday afternoon, and all but one councillor — Vince Natomagan — is seeking re-election.

However, there are two people vying for the mayor’s chair, and seven people want the four seats on council.

John Smerek is challenging Mayor Mike Natomagan, while Ida Ratt-Natomagan, Betty Ann Durocher, Conrad Misponas and Fred Peterson are running for council.

Current councillors Greg Ross, Zedmond Maurice and Raymond Misponas are seeking re-election.
