Pinehouse Resident Drowns in Swimming Mishap

Tragedy struck the northern community of Pinehouse over the weekend.

RCMP report a 19-year-old man drowned while swimming in Pinehouse Lake at around 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon.

The initial investigation conducted by police suggest the man was swimming from one dock to another when the incident occurred.

Police do not suspect foul play but are offering no other details as they continue their investigation.

The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin are notified.
