The First Nations University of Canada has a new interim academic vice-president.

Dr. Herman Michell has been picked to replace Dr. Shauneen Pete.

The FNUC isn’t saying why Pete is no longer in the picture.

Michell is the former head of science at the school and also served on its board of governors.

He has been employed at the university since 1998.

In a news release, the school’s president says Michell’s knowledge will help support the FNUC’s operational plan for the future.
