Saskatchewan Environment has announced that aerial spraying will begin soon in regions near Deschambault Lake and Amisk Lake.

No timetable has been given yet for the move, only that it will begin in the next few days, weather permitting.

The aerial crews will be dispersing a pesticide known as BTK in the area.

It is designed to control certain types of caterpillars.

Saskatchewan Environment says the product is considered safe for humans, animals and the environment.
