An official with the Prince Albert National Park says a blaze dubbed, the “Henderson Fire” has claimed approximately 2,100 hectares of woodlands so far.

Jim Durnan says his crews have worked extensively to put the fire out. He says most of their efforts have been aimed at steering the inferno towards nearby ponds and streams, in an effort to make it fizzle out.

Durnan says the Henderson Fire is situated west of Kingsmere Lake and is not considered a threat to any buildings or people.
