A forest fire north of Jan Lake has residents feeling uneasy, but Provincial Forest Fire Centre officials say there is nothing to worry about.
Spokesman John Cook says the fire was reported early yesterday afternoon.
At last word, wind was pushing the blaze away from the community of Pelican Narrows and it was not considered a danger to the residents in the Jan Lake area.
Cook says there is a lot of smoke in the area, and he understands why some locals might feel threatened.
However, he says the fire is not considered a danger to the community.
The blaze is estimated to be 250 hectares in size.
