Pelican Narrows Murder Suspect Appears In Court

RCMP have released the name of the man who was arrested in connection to the death of a Pelican Narrows resident this past Saturday.

37-year-old John Andrew Sewap is charged with one count of second-degree murder for allegedly taking the life of 40-year-old Alvin Barry Morin.

He also faces one count of aggravated assault for allegedly attacking a 28 year-old woman — Ruth Elizabeth Michel — who continues to recover from serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Both victims were found in a local residence.

Sewap made his first court appearance yesterday.

His next court date is September 23rd in Prince Albert.
