Pelican Narrows Family Reeling After Two Tragedies

The RCMP has confirmed that a fire which claimed a home on the Pelican Narrows reserve belongs to a family whose two-and-a-half-year-old son was killed on Friday.

The blaze happened on Sunday, while a wake for the toddler took place just yesterday.

The youngster was hit by a car backing out of a babysitter’s residence where he had just been dropped off.

Meantime, the fire appears to have been started by children playing with matches.

No one was injured in the blaze, which gutted a duplex.
