A young woman from Southend has been named a co-chair of the Provincial Youth Advisory Committee of Saskatchewan.

Rachel Jane Jobb, who is pursuing her education at the University of Saskatchewan, is one of 25 people between the ages of 14 and 29 selected to sit on the committee.

Culture, Youth and Recreation Minister Joan Beatty says the committee provides an opportunity for young people to have input into decision-making processes at the government level.

The committee, established in 2003, helped the provincial government create SaskYouth.net — a Web site linking youth to practical information and answers
