PBCN Chief Takes Aim At Conservatives

The chief of the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation is taking a swipe at the Conservative candidates in northern Saskatchewan and Prince Albert.
In a prepared statement, Harold Linklater says Prince Albert MP Brian Fitzpatrick opposed the establishment of an urban reserve for a band-owned gas station in P.A.
Linklater also notes Harrison is a former member of the Canadian Alliance, which the chief says had extreme right-wing policies and attitudes toward Aboriginal people.
Linklater says voters in the North should know that Harrison and the Conservatives voted against a land claim and self-government deal in the Northwest Territories back in December 2004.
Linklater says the new Conservatives are not the same Conservatives that signed Treaty Land Entitlement agreements in 1992.
