A sentencing circle will be held for a Yellow Quill First Nation man on February 13th in Rose Valley.

Yesterday in Melfort, a provincial court judge heard details of where and how the hearing will take place.

The lawyer for Christopher Pauchay, the man convicted of criminal negligence causing death for losing his young daughters in freezing temperatures last year, says he’s pleased with the news.

Lawyer Ron Piche says approximately 40 people will take part in the process — including family members, elders, mental health therapists and the RCMP officers that investigated the deaths.

Pauchay wasn’t present for yesterday’s hearing.

He will stay behind bars until the sentencing circle takes place.
