The CEO of the Prince Albert Grand Council says its member First Nations are weighing the pros and cons of a nuclear power facility.

Johnny Walker says Ontario-based Bruce Power has contacted the PAGC to gauge its interest in possible construction of a nuclear facility near Prince Albert.

Walker says talks are in the early stages — but the PAGC has invited Bruce Power to the next chiefs meeting on December 4th, and is awaiting a response.

He says jobs, economic development and the environment are just some of the factors that will be weighed in any decision.

However, Walker notes Prince Albert is not the only area in the province being considered as a possible location.
