PAGC Honours Women For Educational Pursuits

Six women from First Nations throughout northern Saskatchewan were honoured last night at the Prince Albert Grand Council Women’s Commission annual banquet.

The students officially accepted their scholarship awards before a packed house at the Art Hauser Centre.

They include Sturgeon Lake’s Karyn Drane, Carmen McLeod of the Wahpeton Dakota First Nation, Alvina Merasty of Pelican Narrows, Leanna Daniels of Wollaston Lake and Chrystal Eninew and Jessica Hueser of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

The awards are given out annually to women who work to further their education and better themselves.
