An election is the big agenda item at this week’s Prince Albert Grand Council annual assembly — which begins today.

The vote itself takes place tomorrow — a showdown between incumbent PAGC grand chief Ron Michel and the man who wants his job, former Indian Affairs regional director general Roy Bird.

The winner will serve a three-year term in office.

Voting is being handled by PAGC chiefs, band councillors and other delegates.

The PAGC represents 12 First Nations and roughly 30,000 band citizens.
