The Prince Albert Grand Council is asking for an explanation into why the FSIN resolution allowing for the reinstatement of David Ahenakew was allowed to stand.

The PAGC issued a press release today indicating it will ask for an investigation into the matter.

Grand Chief Ron Michel says the council believes the resolution was not checked over properly by the FSIN’s Indian Government Commission before it was allowed to stand.

Michel says he knows Ahenakew’s decision to step away from the appointment has stopped much of the controversy — but he says the 12 chiefs within the PAGC want to set the record straight.
