A large organized crime ring appears to have been busted by the Prince Albert Police Service and other agencies.

The department says four local residents have been arrested for trafficking in cocaine, money laundering and committing offences on behalf of a criminal organization.

Inspector Howard Georgeson says the scope of the alleged crimes is significant.

The people involved are accused of distributing multiple kilograms of cocaine and marijuana in cooperation with people from B.C. and Alberta.

In addition to that, they are accused of obtaining several large items through the proceeds of crime.

So far, officers have seized six vehicles, two snowmobiles, a business and two houses.

Georgeson acknowledges this type of bust is rare in Saskatchewan.

No names have been released.
