The multi-billion dollar merger between two forestry giants has the community of Prince Albert buzzing with excitement.
The Vice-President of Government Affairs for Weyerhaeuser Canada says the Prince Albert Pulp and Paper Mill will soon no longer belong to them.
Sarah Goodman says the plant, along with Wapawekka Lumber, will soon fly under the banner of Domtar.
Goodman says it will be up to the company to decide whether to reopen the mill in PA. She says they also will have to make a decision on Wapawekka as well.
Goodman says the new company has the final say on whether to restart the facilities or turn them over to new buyers.
