A school in Prince Albert staged a comparison of 14th century European and Aboriginal cultures Monday.

Students and staff at Westview/Kistahpinanihk Community School paraded through the hallways dressed as knights, princesses, pow-wow dancers and other historical figures.

Displays on how to build teepees, shoot bows and cook traditional food were just some of the activities up for grabs.

Tayzhia Sewap, one of the elementary school students who took part in the day, says she enjoyed seeing what First Nations used for decorations before the introduction of beads. She made a flower out of fish scales.

Sewap says she enjoyed seeing all the costumes as well.
