The Prince Albert Regional Economic Development Authority has presented a list of recommendations on how to grow the area economically.

The list included the suggestion that Prince Albert create a centre of knowledge excellence for the Aboriginal people in the city and the North.

Secondly, the region wants the city to adopt a more aggressive approach to making sure First Nations and Métis people are actually represented in the work-force.

And third, the recommendations also want the city to pursue major infrastructure projects like the Fort a’la Corne diamond mine and the sale of the Weyerhaeuser Pulp and Paper Mill.

Prince Albert Mayor Jim Stiglitz says he’s not worried the plan will fall apart if nothing happens with the mine or forestry.

The region also wants the city to offer tax-breaks to outside companies.
