Outcome In Northern Riding Still Anyone’s Guess

It’s Election Day in this country.

Among other things, we’ll find out tonight who will emerge from the intriguing three-way battle in the northern riding of Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River.

Incumbent Conservative MP Jeremy Harrison, the NDP’s Anita Jackson and the Liberals’ Gary Merasty all feel they have a good shot at winning this seat in Parliament.

Merasty will be spending today in Pelican Narrows, before heading to Creighton tonight. Jackson will be in La Ronge, while Harrison will spend the day in Meadow Lake.

In the 2004 election, less than 50 % of eligible voters in the riding bothered to vote.

Advance polls suggest voter turnout in the constituency will be high this time around.

MBC will be providing up-to-date results and analysis of the situation in this riding and around the country, beginning at 9:00 CT tonight.
