An important road for the new oriented strand board mill in Meadow Lake will be upgraded this summer.

Saskatchewan Highways has announced that funding has been approved to pave the grid road that currently links the OSB plant to Highway 55.

Highways minister Maynard Sonntag says the department had improved access to the mill in mind when it approved the project, and notes that the improved road will be better able to accommodate heavy haul traffic.

The provincial government and the RM of Meadow Lake will split the 1.1-million-dollar price tag 60-40, with the province picking up the lion’s share of the cost.
