Leaders from the Aboriginal community in Prince Albert are still discussing what to do about a recently-discovered set of human remains.

The bones were discovered at Cooke Municipal Golf Course on April 29th and are believed to be from the 1800s.

Provincial heritage official Carlos Germann attended a meeting last Friday where elders from the Prince Albert Grand Council and Metis leaders discussed the various options open to them.

He says it was decided the bones should be left alone, but a ceremony to honour them will likely take place within the coming days.

Germann says the remains are still unidentified, but it looks like the person was a man in his 30s or 40s who was likely of Aboriginal ancestry.

He doubts they will ever know how he died.
