This is promising to be a memorable day for students at the Mistahi Sipiy Elementary School and the Se-Se-Wa-Hum School on the Big River First Nation.

Two members of the Regina Symphony Orchestra will introduce students to symphonic music this afternoon.

It’s part of a three-day tour of northwest Saskatchewan schools which began on Monday.

The tour is part of the National Arts Centre’s Music Ambassador Program.

Mistahi Sipiy Principal Charlene Blackstar says it will be a great chance for students to learn about music they may not be familiar with.

Blackstar says she wishes she had that chance when she was a child.
