Onion Lake Teen Accused Of Violent Home Robberies

A 17-year-old male from Onion Lake is facing numerous violence and robbery offences after an investigation into a series of break-ins earlier this week in the Battlefords.

At about 1:30 Tuesday morning, the North Battleford RCMP were notified that three apartments in the same building on Winder Crescent had been broken into.

The female resident of one apartment reported she was sexually assaulted and some of her property was stolen.

Three residents in a second apartment were robbed of property, and in the third robbery, no one was home at the time.

The suspect was eventually arrested and charged with sexual assault with a weapon — along with other violence and robbery offences.

He made a first court appearance in the Battlefords yesterday. He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday.
