The recreation director at the Onion Lake First Nation has decided to take a run at provincial politics under the NDP banner.

Grant Whitstone recently threw his name in as the NDP candidate for the Lloydminster constituency for the next provincial election.

Whitstone says the people of Saskatchewan, whether they be Aboriginal or non-Aboriginal, are talking about the same issues and its time to bring them forward. He says those issues include health, education and the state of highways.

Whitstone is no stranger to politics, having worked on the campaigns of several past NDP candidates.

He has also sat on numerous boards and committees with the FSIN and on the Onion Lake health board.
