The One Arrow First Nation is teaming up with the provincial government in an effort to create more affordable living spaces for post-secondary education students.

It was announced yesterday that $1.1 million will be poured into a downtown apartment building in Saskatoon.

A total of 17 spaces are being ear-marked for band members who are attending classes in the city.

Under the terms of the deal the province will provide $891,000 towards the renovations, with the band picking up the rest.

One Arrow Chief Dwayne Paul says the agreement is a perfect example of how various jurisdictions must work together.

Renovations on the apartment are expected to be finished sometime this winter.
