The C.E.O. of an Alberta-based firm exploring Saskatchewan’s oilsands potential says results from this year’s winter drilling session look promising.
Christopher Hopkins of Oilsands Quest says his company has approximately 130 workers at three sites north of La Loche.
The company is drilling 120 different sites looking for oil-rich deposits of bitumen.
Hopkins says over 75 per cent of the holes drilled this winter have landed in oilsands deposits.
He notes his company will continue working until the ground begins to thaw out.
