The Willow Cree Healing Lodge on the Beardy’s/Okemasis reserve is dealing with its first escape of an inmate.
Officials with the facility say they first noticed 51-year-old Gordon Kambeitz was missing during a routine inmate count at 9:40 last night.
He was last seen during the previous prisoner count an hour earlier.
Kambeitz is serving a five-year sentence for a variety of property-related offences.
He’s 5’5″ tall, weighs 190 pounds, and has a medium complexion, brown eyes and grey hair.
This is the first time an inmate has escaped from the healing lodge since it opened in April of last year.
The Willow Cree Healing Lodge is a minium security facility that hold offenders believed to be a low escape risk and a low risk to the public in the event of an escape.
