Prosecutors with the Northwest Territories’ Department of Wildlife continue their case against a Northern Saskatchewan hunter today.

The matter involving Fond du Lac hunter Lawrence Adam will be spoken to at court in Fort Smith.

The Far North resident faces 173 counts of illegal hunting and trapping activities during trips he took north of 60.

Lawyers for Adam contend he only used methods for trapping that have been practiced for hundreds of years and say the government’s case doesn’t make sense.

Five other Northern Saskatchewan hunters face similar charges.
