Northerners Win SaskTel Aboriginal Youth Awards

Two youths from northern Saskatchewan have taken home some major awards.

Jordan Mihalicz of Beauval and Brennan Beatty of Deschambault Lake were recently presented with SaskTel Aboriginal Youth Awards of Excellence.

Mihalicz won the outstanding achievement award, while Beatty took home the education honour.

The 16-year-old Beatty says he was surprised to hear he had won.

Beatty says he wants to take engineering at the University of Saskatchewan this fall.

He also intends to play hockey.

Other winners from Friday night include Howard Cameron of Beardy’s, Jordan Bear of Muskoday and Nicole Waskewitch of Onion Lake.
