An MLA says she’s very impressed with the level of feedback that she’s been given during consultations on elder care.

Laura Ross met with residents in La Ronge yesterday, and is holding meetings today in Pinehouse.

Ross says the main topics include home care support, accessibility to long-term care homes, elder abuse and fall prevention.

She says that for the most part, concerns in northern Saskatchewan are the same as in the south.

However, one difference is that northern residents want to know how they can keep elders in their home communities when it comes to long-term care for them.

She says it’s tough questions like this that prompted the government to send her on its fact-finding tour.
