Northerners To Convocate At University of Arctic

The communities of La Ronge, Creighton, Dillon and Pelican Narrows will be represented next week at a convocation ceremony in Edmonton.

Eight students from Northlands College will graduate with degrees from the University of the Artic.

Northlands College coordinator Glenys Plunz says the students took advantage of the school’s ability to offer classes close to their home communities.

The students attended classes in Creighton, Buffalo Narrows and La Ronge.

The graduates include Bobby Charles, Mariane Charles, Robert Ballantyne and Mabel Isbister of La Ronge, Lee Ward of Creighton, Ernestine Michel of Pelican Narrows, and Dillon’s Ida Sylvestre and Debbie Billette.
