Now that Norcanair has shut down operations, residents in the North are feeling the effects.

Athabasca leader Glen Strong says some northerners have found themselves stranded by the abrupt suspension of the Norcanair flights.

Strong says the pressure is now on Transwest Air to make up for the lost flights, especially in the evenings.

Norcanair president Dave Webster is hoping the airline will be operational again in the not-too-distant future, but says his company’s insurance troubles will have to be cleared up before that happens.
