A provincial court judge has sentenced a man to seven years behind bars for killing a woman in Pelican Narrows.
Judge Gerald Morin handed down the sentence at a hearing in the community yesterday.
32-year-old Leslie Linklater was originally facing a charge of second-degree murder over the matter, but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter.
On January 5th, the RCMP discovered the body of a 22-year-old woman in a home on the reserve.
Her name was never released.
