Northerner Calls On CCRA To Punish Drug Pushers

A resident of Buffalo Narrows says he would like to see authorities begin to punish drug dealers where it hurts them the most — in the pocketbook.

Pierre Chartier says drug abuse is rampant in the Buffalo Narrows area and the problem doesn’t seem to be going away.

He feels the northern village is becoming a feeder area for drug selling in other northern communities, and worries about the future of his children.

He says if the RCMP are unable to crack down on the issue, the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency should step in.

Chartier says he would like to see people convicted of selling the drugs to have material they bought with the money seized and sold off to the highest bidder.
