A La Ronge resident says she’s excited to join the provincial government’s new economic council for youth.

Ashley Charles was one of ten people named to the organization yesterday.

An education and training coordinator at Northern Career Quest, Charles says she’s looking forward to helping out people her age.

Mika Carriere is a Cumberland House resident who currently works at the Prince Albert model forest.

Carriere says she was attracted to the council because it offers her a positive way of developing her job skills.

She expects to know more about her duties on the council by early next week.

The youth economic council will report to the board of Enterprise Saskatchewan.

Its goal is to help retain and attract young workers to the province.
